Tooth replacement

The loss of a tooth, especially a front tooth, can be an emotionally devastating experience. Few people realize, however, that in addition to compromised aesthetics, gaps left when teeth are lost can cause drifting and tilting of adjacent teeth, which in turn can lead to decay, gum disease, and jaw problems. The loss of a tooth, therefore, has both aesthetic and functional consequences.

Dental Artistry staff members are experienced in the cosmetic replacement of missing teeth. Our aim is to replace teeth to maximize aesthetics and function, so that it will seem that the teeth were never lost. We replace most missing teeth with fixed bridges or implant-retained crowns.

Fixed Bridges

A fixed bridge is a restoration whereby an artificial tooth or teeth is/are attached to crowns placed on two or more adjacent teeth. Fixed bridges are either made entirely from porcelain, or from porcelain bonded to a metal substructure.

Dental Implants

Implant-retained crowns are restorations whereby a titanium screw is placed into the jaw bone to replace a missing tooth root, and then a crown is placed on top. In the case of multiple missing teeth, more than one implant can be placed, and multiple crowns or a bridge put on top.
